Sander Van de Walle leads the kitchen at Restaurant Caillou. His passion for food was sparked at a young age in his mother’s kitchen. With a particular love for desserts, he developed a highly precise and refined cooking style that is reflected in every dish he creates.

After gaining experience through internships and positions at renowned restaurants such as Hof van Cleve, De Lijsterbes, De Oosthoek, Tribeca (Netherlands), Zaranda (Mallorca), and Likoké (France), Sander joined Sel Gris*. Over the course of eight years, he worked his way up to become the right hand of chef Frederik Deceuninck. His talent has been widely recognized: in 2016 he earned second place in the Saisonnier Patisserie Benelux competition, and in October 2018 he was awarded the title of First Chef of Belgium – Prosper Montagné. Most recently, he was inducted as a Masterchef into the Order of the 33 Masterchefs of Belgium.

Camille Steenhuyse is your hostess at Caillou. With eleven years of front-of-house experience at Sel Gris*, she ensures every guest enjoys a warm, attentive, and refined experience. Her greatest strengths are her eye for detail and natural spontaneity. To deepen her knowledge, she also completed training stages at Likoké (France) and Zaranda(Mallorca).

Frederik Deceuninck (b. 1982) is the visionary behind Restaurant Caillou. As a chef and entrepreneur at heart, he encouraged Sander and Camille to take flight and bring their own concept to life. While Frederik continues to focus solely on his own kitchen at Sel Gris*, he stands firmly and proudly behind Caillou as mentor and guiding force.
